Why “Kermodee”?
The unique spelling “Kermodee” was inspired by our 12-year-old daughter, who came up with the name during a simple family dinner - a moment that now lives at the heart of our brand.
The Kermode bear, a rare and majestic subspecies of the black bear found only in Canada's beautiful British Columbia, is distinguished by a recessive gene, which gives about one in ten bears cream-colored fur, creating their rare and captivating appearance.
Sacred to Indigenous cultures, the spirit bear holds profound meaning, representing purity, harmony with nature, healing, strength, and a strong connection to the land - a powerful reminder of the interconnectedness of all life.
